2011 marks the 60th anniversary of Melbourne’s premiere film event, the Melbourne International Film Festival. To celebrate we’re inviting all filmmakers – professional, amateur, semi-professional and other – to submit a short film and go into the running to win a prize never offered in the 60 year history of the event. The rules? Films can be shot in any form, must be no more than 6 minutes in length and feature or reference MIFF in some way.
The winning filmmaker will have his/her film screened with the professionals at the MIFF Short Awards, have the film and credits appear in the official MIFF program guide, be featured on MIFF’s brand new website, social network sites and YouTube Channel, receive an exclusive invitation to a host of MIFF red carpet premiere’s, industry events, after parties and screenings, a double pass to the prestigious MIFF Opening Night Gala, one night’s accommodation at the Sofitel Hotel and more.
