Week 10 Blogpost

Critically evaluate the edit or footage you have and what you think needs to be done to achieve your vision. Think about what you think is working and what is not working yet. Also reflect on whether you need to do any more filming or collect other material. How does the film you are making now compare to what you wanted to make?

The work that I have produced so far, I am proud of – however, I feel like I need to do further work on my sound and video grading, to make sure it is up to scratch. I’ve really enjoyed going through the footage that I have collected and editing it in the suites. Through my vision of making it a ‘clean’ film, I have enjoyed watching through my footage, especially the variety of shots that I have gathered. After going through and organising the structure of the film, it added some more emotion to the film, however, I also organise the levels of the sound (I love the button where you can omit background noise!) and removing some of the kitchen background noise which was really hazardous in hearing the film and the interview with Khan. After going through my audio, I want to clean some more of it up and make the storyline ‘punchier’ as well as colour grading the film itself to bring some of the colours to life, especially when involving the curry. I don’t thin I need to film any other additional clips at the moment, but I have a little bit of work to do to make it to a higher level that is similar to Chefs Table.
