Analysis Blogpost Three: Reflection

From the conclusions I have drawn above, I can conclude many things, not only about my thoughts about blog posting and social media but critical thinking and reflecting. I could have included some more source work in my critical analysis, however, there are writing constraints of the analysis blog posts. I also could focus on a pinpointed topic such as social media, gender or networking literacy to hone in the theorists ideologies in specific detail. I could also work on my comparison between ideas, juxtaposing them in my argument. I however, think my linkage back to owning and running a blog is strong. In my final essay, I will be including embedded links back to my blog posts, not only to show my network literacy skills but also the versatility of blogging in an educational sphere. I also think my linkage to examples are strong, such as using the ideas of Gauntlett and Liser to link to technoculture, mass-media and blogging.

I also think my understanding of the importance of blogging, particularly in an educational sense is strong, however, I could link that idea to more theorists who are both for and against media moving into a mass developed culture such as the development of applications like Facebook, rather than communicating through telecommunications. I believe the move from a linear model of communication (also known as the ‘sender-receiver’ model) to a mass media, trans-modal society is significant and could be something that I explore in my final essay.

Thus, reflecting on my analysis pieces above, I can see both areas that I need to improve and work on whilst seeing my strong areas. I believe that tightening and focusing on a specific area of networked media will allow me to compare theorists ideas and draw my own conclusion on the topic.
