Tagging and #blogchecklist.

#blogchecklist

Tagging allows a user to access similar information within a single post – ie: fashion articles in a blog. Tagging became popular due to ease of access in social media sites and the Web 2.0. The classification of things has been around since libraries first opened – think of the library coding. Tags have been around since the 1970/1980s with a text editor Emacs.

Sites such as Delicious (a recipe website) and Flickr (a photo sharing website) made tags popular due to the ease of access, allowing people to view recipes or photos later. This allows a page listing to be made with all the same items in that tag. Tagging has now formed into “hashtags” for things such as twitter, facebook and instagram.
