Course-a-cough

New year, new semester, new content, new room.

Here we go Integrated media back on the blog horse. I have to say it has been tough getting back into the flow so starkly. Coming into the new room and boy-howdy was it up high. And hot.
Seated up the back on the conference master table it was hard to hear Adrian. I zoned in and out trying to memorise my timetable. I heard “Corsacov” a few times. Ella keyed in by whispering “What’s Korsakoff’s syndrome?” I googled it. Why was Adrian talking about amnesia? Should I be worried? Is he heading into an early retirement?

No.

Korsakow films are a style of video production in which linearity and sequential is kaputt. From my initial understanding and what I was shown at the lecture, it’s a project made from multiple videos. They’re interactive and you can manipulate which video you want to be watching. The example shown was a girl showing different emotions. As Adrian clicked onto another window the stream changed and she was displaying a different emotion. Nothing super mind-blowing but interesting. If we had to do any sort of video production I would be happy. And it looks like there will be.
Adrian also talked about the ease of video production and how any schmo can make a film these days. That seems legit.

So this new medium of film to work with. I can dig it and hopefully will be chucking up initial impressions having seen a few more.
