Studio Update Week 7 – True To Form

Week 7 only consisted of Tuesdays class, which was the last True to Form class before the mid-semester break, and it was an important one as it was where students had to pitch their ideas to the class and a panel consisting of Paul, Robin and Andrea. It was a nerve-wracking, yet informative experience and it was especially interesting to listen to the differing feedback that the panel gave. It was also quite relieving to hear the different stages that other students were at, some had their ideas in a very concrete stage of development, while others were still a bit wish-washy and were waiting until they were further into production to cement their ideas.

Each student came to class with unique plans for the future of their lessons in True to Form. The panel was important as each student was given advice on their projects from people with a different and more experienced perspective. The panel seemed impressed with the students work, and our True to Form class were confident in their presentation and their ideas. This class benefited each student immensely as each person got an opportunity to present to the class and explain the reasoning for their ideas.

Students had different ideas, from working with music, creating films, looking at camera angles, investigating lighting or focusing on a theme. The similarity between students was that we all had something influence or inspire our idea, and each idea will be true to form.

The class left the last True to Form class before Easter break thinking hard about how they can enhance the idea, and looking forward to the time away from uni which provides each student more time to work creatively on their plan.
