Week 3’s (and relation to the previous reading)

I am four days late to post this because I totally forgot to write about it. I wanted to write about it after the lecture but… oops.. I was browsing on Facebook like 2 minutes ago and wondering something is missing then I came to realize I haven’t talked about the lecture on this week.

Adrian takes feedbacks really seriously. Some of us were more into the new system which Adrian intended to do, doing it as an unlecture instead of a lecture whereas some of us prefer the traditional style. So, week 3 was half lecture and the other half unlecture. Now we see the difference. LIVE, in one hour. Personally, I would go for the unlecture system because I find it really interesting to absorb from.

Through this, we are also experiencing the single looping and the double looping from this. The article by Chris Argyris on single looping and double looping learning stating that single-loop is “given or chosen goals, values, plans and rules are operationalized rather than questioned”. In other words, it’s a more traditional style of learning. Double-loop on the other hand is “an alternative response is to question to governing variables themselves, to subject them to critical scrutiny” which basically means a two way learning system like practicing fixing a problem and underlying assumptions and beliefs – something like more on practical work.
