Reflection 4, Question:7

Lighting is something I had not really considered before. I didn’t even think about it up until this lecture. Lighting is such a crucial part of a film, it really does set the mood and the tone and can make or break a film’s success.
Learning about exposure levels, how to monitor this, and how to adjust your settings/location is something we definitely need to consider and think about it before we start our shoot. We also need to ensure on the day of our shoot that all our levels stay the same for each shot, as there would be nothing worse than going to edit and finding all the shots can not match.

I think a lot of it comes down to trial and error but I think that if we give enough time to play around with it, we will hopefully be able to get it just right!
I think I still have a lot to learn about the nitty gritty of lighting, especially how to create certain textures and how to really pull focus and attention on a subject.

Test shoots in your location, so you can get straight into it on the day, find any issues that may cause concerns, i.e lighting (are there windows, can we use natural lighting, is there enough space to put extra lighting if needed etc…)
