Syd-City

I have just returned from 2 weeks in Sydney, where I undertook an internship with Bauer Media.

I will admit, that I am the first to advocate for Melbourne over Sydney, and am often the loudest spoken regarding the ‘love-hate’ relationship between our two cities. However, after 2 weeks I have fallen to the dark side.

Melbourne is a city full of arts and culture, and an underground edge which can rival the likes of Berlin and London. However there is something about Sydney which is unmistakably its own. With the vast pockets displaying the different natures of the city, every day had something to offer.

Career wise, there is no denying that within our industry of media & communication, Sydney dominates Melbourne’s proposed job opportunities. And with this said, this is a massive advantage over our ‘sports capital’ of the world.

Drink – The Winery in Surry Hills

This diverse and eclectic venue will seem familiar to many Melbournians. Set in and outdoor garden patio, trees strung with lights and a mix of vintage furniture this tapas bar seems straight from the streets of Fitzroy.

For underground music, and a good place to work up a sweat on the dance floor, Oxford Art Factory is the place for locals.

Shop – Paddington Market
