‘Network Literacy’.
Adrian Miles’ reflection on the different forms of literacy allowed me to realize just how little i know about what constitutes print and network literacy. All human beings already have this implicit knowledge of how to read and write, and therefore, assuming the way to borrow a book from a library. Originally, essays and books were a way to translate information into knowledge, but with the 21st century rising and developing in forms of communication, accessing and communicating on the internet is the realm of network literacy.

Adrian Miles says ‘to be good at network literacies is to contribute as much as it is to consume’, speaking direct to myself in particular, pushing me to contribute (currently in the form of blog posts) just as much as i consume (which i assure you is completely out of balance). A majority of people i know, consuming network literacy on an hourly basis, may only contribute once a day or even two days. So, for me, perhaps if i contributed as much as i consume, i may encourage these so called ‘others’ to follow in my footsteps…

Thanks for the inspiration Adrian.
