‘Do flowers exist at night?’ by Mackenzie Curtis

Do flowers exist at night? from Media Factory on Vimeo.

Do flowers exist at night? is an experimental short film that uses poetic listing to contemplate loneliness.

My research focused around how poetic listing could act as an invitation for emotional connection in experimental film. Poetic listing was used primarily in the development of my film, acting as a framework to brainstorm ideas and make connections that could be translated into the moving image. I focused on researching different filmic techniques to pair with my poetic list to ensure the film remained open and space was created for contemplation and emotional connection for the audience.

Listing can be infinite and a stand alone creative work whilst also acting as the anchor for additional creative works. My work in listing has translated best in my creative development process and will be an aspect I consider in future creative works.
