BABY – Delphi San Roque

Mary takes a pregnancy test at work leading to an intensely stressful 3 – 5 minute waiting period. Whilst waiting for the result that could determine everything, Mary’s mind battles between the overbearing but alluring presence of the shops resident Virgin Mary, a possible baby on the way and a number of inquisitive customers. Just as it all becomes too much, could Mary be on the complete wrong page? Or perhaps she’s on the exact right page that’s been written for her.

The process of creating this piece was so much fun. I was lucky enough to be able to set the short film in an actual location and work alongside people which really elevated the creation process and experience. This also meant I was able to apply the skills taught within class and receive critical feedback from the class discussions and pitches that allowed much more guidance throughout the process. Although there was definitely room for improvement in regards to the audio, it has still been a huge learning experience, and I am eager to improve on this skill for future projects.
