Witness

A short documentary film by Zhizhou Zhao (Lorinda).

Since 2017, we can see some news like this: The Great Barrier Reef is dying.  A short documentary film witnesses the huge changes in the Great Barrier Reef and the extent of human impact on the environment.

Motivation

With the increase in fame and the tourists, people unintentionally destroyed the ecological environment in the sea. Tourism is a multi-dimensional economic activity that interacts with the environment. Environmental resources provide raw materials for tourism. On the other hand, tourism has created various negative and positive impacts on the environment through creation. I hope that I can attract people’s attention to environmental pollution by using my own experience.

Prompt

This short film is mainly based on the footages and pictures, supplemented by some information and news online. The footages I used in the film has a strong contrast, as I wish to present my thoughts to the audience in a more intuitive way. I also used different background sound effects to combine the various parts of the lens to enhance the contrast.
