There is a body that we have, a body that we are, but there is also a body that we do. Our bodies interact with our environment through our senses and the information we gather is used to enact our bodies. Our body’s sense of permeability allows us to take in information from the environment, while also allowing our bodies to have an affect on the environment. Our surroundings can leave us feeling emotionally secure, or it can leave the body feeling disgusted, frightened or confused, eliciting reactions from our bodies. Being a seeing, hearing, feeling and smelling body in action can lead us to form habits and repetitive behaviours that can develop and calm our emotional side. While our bodies are constantly objectified, subjectified and enacted, we need to find moments of stillness in life, to reflect on how amazing our bodies truly are. These media works explore these ways of enacting our bodies.
