Closing the Gap in Aussie Rules” focuses on the treatment of women in the sporting industry in regards to their pay. We explore why this issue exists in our modern society and what can be done to close this gap and create an equal and fair sporting world for the women in Australia. We analyse how this gap was embedded into society through the history of women in Australia and the sporting world and what has actually caused this issue to remain prevalent in 2018. We question the media for the answer, in order to find a solution to close the pay gap in Australian sport and in particular AFL and AFLW.
