I use photography for collecting memories and telling stories. This studio has taught me however, that I can also use photography to learn about other people stories… even strangers! This studio has taught me how much easier it is to meet new people when you have a camera in your hand and build up the confidence to approach them. Moreover, I have realized that photography is not just about still images anymore but how photography is starting to incorporate aspects of film and journalism, its definition is changing every day. In addition, I love using photography both formally and informally. For example, I love going out with nothing but my camera and taking photos of the landscapes and seeing where the shoot takes me, but I also love spending a lot of time planning a shot, using lots of equipment and taking photos in a more professional manner. Overall, I think photography is the best and easiest way to connect with people and places and it is worth refining ones skills in this practice to reflect the authenticity and beauty of the things we photograph. Photography will always be an important part of my life and I look forward to the places it will take me.
