Tuesday’s class was based around our guest speaker Amiel Courtin-Wilson, a past RMIT student whom is now an internationally recognised director, producer and cinematographer. He recounted his story to us of how his career in filming began, from a university project. Ameil shared some of his wisdom with us including how he realised the “exhilarating potential of a documentary film” after initially thinking the idea of documentaries was boring. He reminisced how he was “scared shitless” after writing his first ever script and deciding to film his idea. He was incredibly nervous that he wouldn’t be able to bring his script to life in the way he imagined and that he was wasting a lot of time and money developing it.

Thursday’s class was for presenting our films and reviving feedback. As we’ve past the halfway point of the studio it was great to see how everyone’s films have developed since week 4.
