He broke down editing genres, which is different than the other readings making it even

easier for editors to understand the editing style for a specific genre. For example he

covers comedy, dialogue, action and documentary. And for each genre there are

examples of movies. Dancyger makes clear how the techniques of editing must answer to

the needs of a scene or the aims of a film as a whole.
