This book does not show you what to do but helps editors know the “why” behind their

editing decisions. They explain what works and gives a reason for why it does. The

authors provides basic rules but understands that editors remember the rules, and the

intention of the film they are editing even when they want to break the rule.

They have a depiction of different types of shots for instance C/U, MCU, etc. and they

also include a list of definitions for editors to understand.
