  1. This symposium asks various film editors on their opinions. The question posed is, “Do you believe that film editing should be ‘invisible’ or ‘visible’ to the viewer? Why? In other words, do you believe that your primary task is to create a visually seamless flow to support the narrative or do you believe there are other functions of editing?”
    This article is extremely helpful and insightful, as it is the editor’s themselves that are faced with the everyday challenges of editing the in/visible, and are justifying each and every action to their director. Due to the nature of this article spanning many different opinions, there are a number of
    aspects that arise to do with film editing; from it’s similarity as an art form to books in terms of invisibility, to discussion about story telling and reality.
